SportsNet New York has internships available for the spring, summer, and fall semesters

Interns, who must be at least entering their junior year in college, receive college credit for the internship. Interns will receive hands-on experience assisting in a wide range of the station's operations. Interns generally work approximately 20 hours per week, which may include nights and weekends. Internships are available in the following departments:

Production:

Interns in the department will assist the Supervising Producer of the Network, including logging tapes, screening shows, and other production-related tasks. Interns will be assigned on-going, daily responsibilities as well as stand-alone projects.

REQUIREMENTS/SKILLS

  • Strong interest in television programming and sports
  • Excellent verbal and written communication, interpersonal, and creative skills
  • Detail-oriented, with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously; meet deadlines and work as part of a team while also being able to work independently in a fast-paced environment.
  • Possess great organizational skills with an excellent track record for following through on projects
  • Strong computer skills; extensive experience with Microsoft Office applications a must
  • Able to commit at least three days per week (5 hours/day)

NBC Universal seeks Los Angeles based intern(s) to assist in all aspects of Interactive Media Product Development. Intern will have the opportunity to learn many aspects of the real-world creation & production of interactive television & mobile products. Intern will work primarily with Technical Producers to research & document the production of 1-screen, synchronous web, mobile (SMS, MMS, WAP), and Advanced TV. Intern will help research the competitive landscape in emerging media & will have the opportunity to participate in strategic brainstorms, testing & experimenting with new platforms. Intern will assist in the creation of presentations & assessments thereof. Intern will have exposure to engineering & video production as well as a variety of NBCU business units. Seeking 20-40 hr/wk commitment. This is a credit only internship.

ATTENTION TO DETAIL IS A MUST. Responsibilities include shadowing various team members from pre-production planning thru post-campaign analysis, note taking & process documentation, research, testing, editorial proofing, assisting with reporting, helping to write & produce newsletters & presentations. Required skills include proficiency with MS Office (Excel and PowerPoint), excellent English language skills, and knowledge of mobile & iTV technologies (text messaging, mobile web, etc). Qualifications:

Qualified applicants must be detail oriented, responsible and have excellent organizational skills. Individuals must also have great written and oral communication skills and be able to work in a fast-paced setting. We also require good computer skills within the Microsoft Office platforms (Excel, Word, Outlook and PowerPoint).


Selection Process: Final applicants will be contacted and invited to participate in the interview process starting in May. All interviews will take place at team headquarters and must be done in person, since we will not conduct phone interviews. Qualifications- Interns are required to have experience with ProTools or similar digital editing software. Otherwise, the internship aims to educate the intern in all the other aspects of producing a show.

How to Apply-

Qualifications-
The Program is open to college students, recent grads, members of the community, etc. The applicant must be available a minimum of 15 hours per week, unless interning for the Eight Forty-Eight and Newsdesk programs, which require a 35 hour a week commitment.

In addition to your resume, you should also include three letters of reference. Letters of reference should come from people who you have worked with in some capacity. Teachers, academic advisors, former supervisors, and members of organizations you’ve volunteered for make great references.
